Implementation of Highly-Efficient Equipment Using Joint Crediting Mechanism

SHINRYO CORPORATION received the second construction phase of THAI KYOWA BIOTECHNOLOGIES CO., LTD. a local subsidiary of KYOWA HAKKO BIO CO., LTD. amino acid manufacturing plant (the Plant) in Thailand through international bidding. This order covered Engineering, Procurement of equipment and materials, Construction and Commissioning (EPCC contract). The Plant was turned over in March 31, 2018 and began operation from April. We were also responsible of the first construction stage (completed in January 2015) and received high praise, which lead to receiving this second construction phase order.

The Plant was constructed to expand upon the amino acid manufacturing plant (first construction phase) in the Rayong Province; approximately 180 km south east from Bangkok, the capital of Thailand; in response to the global increase in the demand of amino acid. Total area is approximately 210,000 m2, which is about 4.5 times the size of Tokyo Dome.

The Plant implements latest technologies for manufacturing high quality amino acid. The second construction phase included delivery of large fermentation tank and other various manufacturing equipment; chiller, compressor, and other utility equipment; waste water treatment system; and building frame and building for those equipment.

Highly efficient turbo chiller was introduced using the Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM) between Japan and Thailand, which enable the reduction of use of electricity and contribute to the achievement of the greenhouse gas reduction target of Japan.

In addition, BIM made using 3D-CAD software developed by SHINRYO CORPORATION was utilized from the design stage and a 3D model made in Japan was presented to the customer for approval.
